[ Yin snorted at the slip. she's good at rolling with it when it's because someone else was put off balance by her. it only induces rage in her when someone's being a jerk. (even if she deserves it). ]
Good. Between the both of us we should be outta here in no time. [ she scoffs, looking down while sawing at some threads of her own starting at her belt and moving upward. ] Some Founder's Day celebration this turned out to be, huh. Bet you didn't wake up today with dreams of getting tied up with another girl.
[ Yin paused, glancing up at Victoria's face briefly with a smirk on her lips. ] Or, hey, maybe you did. I won't judge.
[ the latter is the only warning he'll get that Yin is angling herself forward to carry them down to hit the ground just inside the bus stop. she reaches across her body to grab hold of his shirt and tug him in close as she pivots. it's not the softest landing, but she knows a few things about taking falls like this thanks to all the time she's spent grappling with people. there's just usually a training mat involved...
at least Yin can break his fall. just in time, too, with the ball barreling on down right past the curb and missing the pair of them by only a couple of seconds. while the panic and urgency subsides she lays there and works hard at catching her breath. ]
Whew! Not how I wanted to spend today, that's for damn sure. [ she raised her head and looked downward. ] You okay?
[One of them is clearly the stronger one here, and Sato has absolutely no objection to the fact that it isn't him if it means that he's going to survive this.]
One! Two, One-
[It's definitely not a soft landing, and Sato has the breath knocked out of him when she all but throws them to safety. He'll be grateful as soon as he's caught his breath again which takes a full few seconds before he looks up at her.]
[ Yin grinned wide. ] I've had worse spills. Trust me. [ she reached up to pull her hair out from behind her back and then started to push herself into an upright position. ]
I gotta wonder if that damn ball is ever gonna stop, if it can go around the block like that...
[A ball of string that just never stops and literally becomes a running fixture in the city...what a terrifying thought.
As she sits up, Sato does, as well. He makes sure, though, to watch carefully in case she winced or otherwise showed some indication of being injured.]
It has to at some point, right? There's got to be a limit to the amount of string it contains.
According to the record, that's still a lot of string. [ Yin grumbles about it, more irritated at that than pained, but there's signs of some scrapes and spots where she'll be nursing bruises over the days to come. ]
I hope they burn the damn thing for this. Or stitch it into a million Christmas stockings. Ow.
Who even thought that making such a big ball of string was a good idea? [They should have done something else. Pretty much anything else.]
And with the way it's tangled around everything right now, neither of those even sound like good ideas.
...You okay? Can you stand? Let me see if I can get the rest of this string off. [He doesn't even have a band-aid, but he does have a handkerchief?? He just has to untie the two of them first but thankfully the strings are snapping fairly easily.]
Some idiots trying to drum up tourism the same way lonesome highway sideshows have nothing else to do? I dunno.
[ Yin shook her head. ] I'll be alright, but knock yourself out. I'm gonna catch my breath a sec. [ while looking around. ] ...did you see my keys? Must've dropped them. [ they're tangled somewhere nearby but it turns out that in the rush she didn't pocket them. ] Shit, if they're in that ball I'm gonna be really pissed.
They should have just built an art gallery or a huge outdoor installation or something.
[When Yin mentions her keys though, he immediately looks to his own hands (where they're not, of course). Though he had been holding them and now feels both terrible and obligated to help her with finding them.]
I had them before. They should still be around here though, right? I could have sworn I was still holding onto them...
[Keys, keys, keys.......wait....Sato sees them tangled in a piece of string that is wrapped all the way around one of the sides of the bus stop.]
Founders Day Overflow Threads

Sato
Come on, come on! One! Two! Hold on!
